First, cross the longer end in front of the short end. 

next form the 1st knot by pushing the fat end (here forward known as "the end") of the tie behind and up through 

you don't have to "cinch" this knot up to the top. 

next pull the end to the other side going behind the tail. 

Now pull the end over the front on this side and pull through, forming the 2nd knot. You'll see the back of the end is facing forwards in my left hand, this is correct.

having pulled the end down through again, you can see how the 2 knots form the "skeleton" of the triangle .  

Next, cross the end in front of the 2 knots you've made. 

Pull the end back behind and up through (the rest is exactly like a four-in-hand). 

Now pull the end down through the front of the knot. You're almost done! 

Finally, just cinch up the job by holding the tail of the tie and sliding the knot up as you would with a four-in-hand knot. 

and voila! The beauty of this knot is that you get the ease of tying and tightening like a four-in-hand, with the formality of a half-windsor. Give the Perkins knot a try, I'm sure once you see for yourself how easy it is and how good it looks, you'll be as convinced as I am! 

SURPRISE!

This event was actually worth it's own separate post, and yeah, it's damn late. So I was at work ALL THE TIME (on call in surgery) and it was really difficult to do anything nice for my b-day. Tahera hinted that once surgery was over I'd get my present so I could enjoy it. She gave me really vague hints as to what it was but for the most part had me scratching my head trying to guess what it could be. Then, When I least expected it, what was supposed to be a casual evening having dinner with Sarah and Brett actually turned out to be one big flippin surprise party for yours truly. For anyone wondering whether or not I was surprised, take one look at my "what the HELL is going on?!" face in this picture for the answer.

Aziza actually made this cake in front of me. She said it was for her friend's birthday and I didn't think twice. I wasn't around when the final piping was put in place. She also took the pic. 

Dan Lutker wins the die-hard award for making the trip, by car, all the way from Long Island for the party. and dude drove back the next day. Thanks Dan, it was great to see you again.

The party was a really nice surprise. It was cool to see friends from home, college and here in buffalo all in the same place. Here we see (from the right) Chris Tjoa, Jonathan Perkins, Amy Pribulick and Dennis Hall. You can kinda make out Oldfield, Julie Jamieson and myself on the left. Thanks so much guys. and especially thanks Pika. You totally had me fooled. You really are the bestest. 

We Know....

SO YEAH, we know! Contrary to popular belief, Tahera and I have NOT fallen of the face of the earth. WE KNOW it's been waaay too long since we last posted, and there's no damn excuse. So rather than dwell on our shameless procrastination, let's just move forward, America. Let's just sweep the indescretions February and March (and most of April) aside, and take to the spring with a renewed sense of purpose. Lets turn a new leaf. let's shine up the old penny. Let's BLOG AS WE'VE NEVER BLOGGED BEFORE!....But before we get carried away, let's get caught up. What the hell HAVE Riz and T been doing all this time? Well.....roadtrips
